Einstein Who?

Vekk was the bee’s knees, as was Snaff. And while they both may only be knee-high to a grasshopper, they were both indisputably big on brains. Zojja step aside, today we’re featuring the boys!

Were I to make a male asura, he would have face 8, ears 7, and hair 1, also known as bald. I could probably be talked into hair 2 or 3, but really, I prefer my male asura bald. Although, I had a crazy idea for an all-asura PvP team each with different colored afros and named after pool balls.

A side note: Next week I’m going on vacation, so there won’t be any new character customization posts. I’ll try to get as many made this week and maybe, if I’m lucky, there will be some scheduled for next week. I wouldn’t count on it though 😉

Pelt Watch: The Ultimate Part 1

Last year when I made my first Pelt Watch post I had no idea it would be as popular as it became. Granted, its popularity is pretty much completely thanks to ArenaNet Community Manager Regina Buenaobra linking to it on twitter. (Thanks for that btw) Even beyond the official noteriety though, I figured that since I can spend the lion’s share of my playtime basically playing with character customization, perhaps there’s some other people out there who feel the same.

So I continue Pelt Watch. And today I bring you a chart of the pelts that started it all. The beastly, the ferocious, the often bloodthirsty and surprisingly loyal, the male charr.

Maybe She’s Born With It

First off I’d like to say that Hunter, from HuntersInsight.com has put up a great post that includes some nice videos on character customization. These charts are made from off-screen photos taken by the lovely and talented Tasha Darke. The quality isn’t what you’d get from in-game screenshots and of course there’s no animation. Still, I believe there’s value in these to have a static reference that allows one to see everything at a glance.

I urge you to check out the videos because ArenaNet really has top-notch animators and seeing these designs in motion is absolutely fantastic. When I’ve posted charts for everything I’ll make a compilation post and archive it in my guides section on the top right.

And so, without further ado, I present to you the carefully sculpted coifs you can sport on your human female. There are 22 alltogether, including a bald option which isn’t pictured.

I Like Mutton Chops On My Beefsteak

You know what time it is? It’s NORN TIME! Unleash your inner animal and take a look at the hair options for the beefiest of Tyria’s men. I have no idea if the beards have sliders to make them larger or smaller. It would certainly be a nice addition but personally I don’t think it’s very likely.

Mow Me Down

The sylvari are a perennial favorite with fans. Between their hauntingly alien beauty and their oft childlike wonder at the world, what’s not to love? Tonight’s facial feature is the female sylvari options. It’s important to keep in mind that these are only the options available as of Gamescom 2011. With the recent sylvari redesign rest assured that there will be many more options to choose from come launch.
